Theft/Murder in Manurewa
This happened to me 2 weeks ago in Manurewa.
I came home from work, my home had been broken into,it had been totally ransacked - ie every drawer, cupboard, wardrope had been emptied onto the floor, the place was a total shambles. My dog/my babe was not there.
I am 7mnths pregnant - working full time, low socio economic (no there are no drugs in my home).
The neighbours told me the police came to my home 1hr after I left for work, then animal control turned up. I am told by animal control the police said my dog had to be removed because of a welfare issue. The welfare issue was confusing because I thought this involved SPCA and so contacted them about this. It ended up my baby was in the Manukau pound as the police had told animal control my baby was abandoned. I was at work and had thought my baby girl was safe at home as she always had been. The Police said because I was at work and had left my baby at home the law said I had abandoned her, so I went to the Pound to pick my baby up and they said "She was killed yesterday, sorry we got the kill date wrong", I asked them where my baby was now - they said she was with a burning company in Manukau. I phoned this company as I wanted my babies body back to hold her and look at her and apologise to her that this had been out of her mummies control, but the burning of my babies batch was 3 and a half hours after her slaughter. I went back to her slaughterers and said "did she go mad in her last moments not understanding why her mum could not protect her like all the other babies" the pound person went silent, I repeated my question, they still would not answer. I then phoned my babies vet and I hope he gave me the right answer. He said " your baby was a little dog, the dose they are meant to give should have killed her fairly swiftly - he did say that he could not , nor would ever understand why they killed her". So I phoned these killers back and said " why did you murder my darling little girl before you gave me the time to get her home" - DSLTD said "she was a dangerous aggressive dog". Please look at her photo, please see she was my baby, please see you just know even in a playfight my baby never used her teeth, my baby was so gentle I never got a lovebite from her. My baby had a skin condition, her vet religiously injected her monthly for 5mnths. We had finally healed her, after 2 mnths of vet visits folllowing her final treatment she had a full healthy coat. Then she was slaughtered. Her rescued cat friend, her doggy friend, her human friends - we all want her back sooooo much.
Her vet could not believe it, he said the Manukau City Council, the Manukau Police, DSSLTD need to be legally challenged. He said he would turn up in court and provide the the written statement required to show my baby was a baby. He said he would say he my baby girl was courteous and loving to all. I have movies of my baby. My baby was stolen from her home, I have to know why she was slaughtered before they gave me the time to save her, they said when I got there "she was unrehomable", why would they even think this WHEN HER MUMMY HAS HER HOME WAITING FOR HER. WE ALL WANT HER BACK SOOOOO MUCH - WE CANT EVEN HAVE HER COLLAR OR HER ASHES. THEY HAD MY PHONE NO'S, THEY DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO CALL ME TO GIVE ME ONE MIN TO SAVE HER. I know she is just one of thousands slaughtered unjustly off Roscommon Road every year, who cares about her inhumane slaughter. The vet says I should legally challenge her theft and slaughter, how can you even start on this. I have rung the Manukau Police and left messages about what has happened but no reply. Goodbye my darling little girl - you were too good for this earth.

Have contacted the Manukau Courier about this - they do not want to get involved at this stage, as the police involvement apparantly is too restrictive for the public to know about. Do not the public have a right to know how the police had this gentle family pet killed, as this method has replaced the police pepper spray
tactic. This dogs slaughter is only one of many posted recently whereby the police have changed capture
methods. Does not anyone care about the vicious capture and slaughter of this gentle girl at the hands of the NZ police. What part of the dog welfare act has changed to enable the NZ police to say these dogs have been abandoned, simply because their owners have been at work. Abandonment is interpreted in NZ law by the police now
to state the animal must be killed immediately as the owner will not be available within the 7 days to
save his/her best friend. Several stories have been posted recently with photos of slaughtered pets to show this inhumane current trend. One 9 year old best friend was slaughtered inhumanely within 3 hours of police entering the property 2weeks ago, the police stated his dad would be away for several weeks so would not be able to comply with NZ's 7 day pound kill period, so the dog may as well be killed immediately. The owners dad got to the pound several hours after the dog had been siezed, too late. The NZ police can now over ride the 7 day kill period to afew hours. As this is South Auckland anything goes. Mass genocide of the dogs continue.
